
Dan
is a graduate of Berklee College of Music, where he excelled at both trumpet
Performance and Music Production/Engineering. While at Berklee, Dan studied
with world renound trumpeters Tiger Okoshi and Greg Hopkins. Also an avid composer, Dan's electroacoustic compositions were showcased
at both the 2001 and 2002 conventions of the Acoustical Society of America (ASA)
spawning 3 CD's released under his own name. He was also coauthor of "Live
Signal Processing and the Brass Player" published by the ASA. As an artist
in Osvaldo Golijov's Orcestra La Pasion, he has performed the world renound
La Pasion Segun San Marcos at The Sydney Festival (Sydney, Australia) The Eclectic
Orange Festival (Orange County, CA), the BAM Festival (New York) and various
other cities throughout the United States. Dan has been seen opening for such artists as DJ Krush, LTJ Bukem,
Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne, Medeski Martin and Wood, Soulive, Les Nubians, Ice T, The Disco Biscuits, Ming and FS, Dr.
Didj, and Waking Vision. His quartet (Martin Valihora, John Shannon, and Oskar
Rosza) has toured Eastern Europe and recorded the acclaimed album, "Becoming".
Recently, Dan performed in Cuba with La Timba Loca, sharing the stage with Los
Van Van, and Pupy y los que Son Son. As a freelance engineer and composer, Dan
founded Silent Medicine Productions, a company dedicated to the recording and
production of creative and modern musical endeavours. He has also worked as a touring front of house engineer with Dawn Upshaw, Gustavo Santollala, Osvaldo Golijov, Mark Dresser, and Moonraker. Dan is also chief sound
designer for Hogan International, an up and coming web design firm at the edge
of artistic technology.
